Information about shortened links
When you create a short link, we store the destination URL, destination host, chosen or generated alias, creation and update timestamps, whether the link is enabled, an aggregate click count, and the time of the most recent click.
The private management key is returned to your browser once. We store only a one-way cryptographic hash of that key. Keep the management URL safe: anyone who has it can manage the associated link.
Information about visitors
When someone follows a short link, we increase its aggregate click count and update the most recent click time. Our application database does not store visitor IP addresses, precise locations, user-agent histories, or individual click records.
Technical information
Our hosting and security providers may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser details, and security signals, to deliver the service, prevent abuse, and maintain system reliability. Their handling of this information is governed by their own policies and retention practices.
How we use information
We process information to:
- Create, redirect, preview, update, pause, and delete short links.
- Show link owners aggregate click counts and basic timestamps.
- Protect the service from bots, spam, malicious destinations, and excessive use.
- Diagnose failures and keep the service secure and available.
We do not sell personal information or use individual click histories to build advertising profiles.
Data retention
Link records remain stored while the short link exists. A person with the management key can permanently delete that record from the service. Security and infrastructure providers may retain limited operational records for their own documented periods.
Your choices
You can use the private management page to update a destination, pause redirects, or delete a short link. You can remove the rate-limiting cookie through your browser settings, although a new identifier may be issued when you create another link.
If privacy law in your location gives you rights over personal information, you may contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate relevant records.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service, our providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be presented on the site when appropriate.
