Shortening a URL should make that handoff easier without taking control away from the person sharing it or hiding the destination from the person opening it.

Private where it matters

Control stays with the creator
The private management page makes it possible to correct, pause, or remove a link without creating an account.
How it works
When you create a short link, the service stores the destination with a unique alias. Opening that alias looks up the destination, updates a total click count, and redirects the visitor. The management URL contains a private key used to authorize later changes.
